sumptuously decorated atmosphere, with centre stage given to
flamboyance. This dramatic, sophisticated and charming space of
grace and intimacy, like a timeless fairy-tale is held in the
generous embrace of the lush leafy garden.

For the Bride….. get dressed in the romantic space of Upstairs and
book your beauty sleep the night before in the attic room, to
create magnificent moments with your bridal party before your
wedding in true fairy tale style.

Grewar House History & It’s Owners
Once upon a time in 2010 Jaco and Bea’s journey as owners of Grewar house began.. It became their
weekend and holiday “Home of their Heart”. Sensitive renovation work started, executed with love and care.
It is a way of life to keep Grewar’s House original charm and character alive. Jaco’s sensitivity to this subject,
as an Architect, was the perfect match together with Bea’s passion for décor.
The Original house was built in 1889 by the Grewar Family on the farm Hananeel, next to Parys.
The Grewar family farmed on this farm for 5 generations. In 1962 the farm was incorporated as part of a new
Parys suburb. Grewar Avenue that runs behind the house next to the Vaalriver, was named after the Grewar
Family. Old documents show the stables and barns stood to the left of the back garden where the townhouses
have been built. The Karee trees on the right of the house and one on the left by the townhouses are original and
were planted with the initial building of the house. The farm’s orchards and vegetable gardens were all the
way down to the Vaalriver.
Upstairs was a new addition in the 1990’s and built with an old original antique staircase,
doors and windows to match the original house.
